Associate Membership

As an Associate Member of NASPO, you will have a direct link into the world of state procurement, including the ability to attend the NASPO Annual Conference and (if a state employee) one of the four regional conferences.  Each of these events is open to members-only with no private sector participation.  You are also invited to attend the NASPO Exchange Conference, an educational forum that allows information exchange between procurement officials and private sector providers. In addition, you are eligible to participate on most NASPO committees.

Associate Members receive complimentary copies of NASPO resources and publications and are provided access to the members-only NASPO Network. The NASPO Network is a great way to communicate and collaborate electronically with fellow NASPO members to ask questions, exchange information and share solutions virtually instantaneously.

Associate Membership is an individual membership type available as follows:

1. U.S. State Agencies

Procurement professionals employed by U.S. state agencies and institutions that are either independent of a state central procurement jurisdiction, have received delegated procurement authority from the state central procurement jurisdiction, or have received delegated procurement authority by statute, as well as those employed by state-affiliated, not-for-profit higher education institutions, may apply.

2. U.S. Federal Agencies

At the invitation and discretion of the NASPO Board of Directors, associate membership may be available to employees of U.S. federal government agencies, departments, divisions or other organizational units that are charged with procurement functions and which, in the Board of Directors’ judgment, would reflect positively on the image of the association.

3. Foreign Government Entities

Employees of foreign federal government entities that are charged with procurement functions and which, in the Board of Directors’ judgment, would reflect positively on the image of the association. Qualified foreign entities include governmental units comparable to a nation, state or province.
